LinkedIn is upgrading its messaging experience with a new ‘Focused Inbox,’ which aims to minimize spam and surface area more pertinent messages.
The next time you login to LinkedIn and open your inbox you’ll see an alert welcoming you to “Try Focused Inbox.”
Clicking the button shown above will automatically filter your messages into 2 tabs.
Focused Inbox uses AI to recognize crucial messages, which it filters into the ‘Focused’ tab while the rest are sent out to the ‘Other’ tab.
Thinking about there’s an AI element included it might require time for LinkedIn to discover your inbox preferences.
You’ll have the option to move messages between tabs, or revert back to the conventional messaging experience if you do not take pleasure in the Focused Inbox.
LinkedIn is making this modification in uptick in direct messaging, which the business states is up 20% compared to in 2015.
In an e-mail, a LinkedIn representative states:
“This feature is the latest in a series of enhancements we’ve made to assist members have more productive discussions and link to opportunities through LinkedIn messaging. With conversations up almost 20 percent because last year, we’re seeing more professionals on LinkedIn are turning to messaging to connect and engage with each other.”
LinkedIn’s Focused Inbox is now offered worldwide to all users.
